CEGP to Duterte: Take the initiative to ban yourself as leading purveyor of fake news
Paper tiger President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the head of Malacañang’s Internal House Affairs Office to ensure that Rappler’s Maria Ressa and Pia Ranada are banned from the Palace.
FOLLOWING the recent attacks to the Philippine press, President Rodrigo Duterte pounces on press freedom even more, beleaguering the already perilous fourth estate and silencing as much as he can while mobilizing his charlatan army of trolls and pseudo-journalists to frame everything in his favor.
It was the paper tiger himself who ordered that Rappler reporter Pia Ranada and CEO Maria Ressa be banned from entering Malacañang Palace. The order came immediately after Duterte watched the Senate hearing on the Philippine Navy frigates deal, where Special Assistant to the President Bong Go accused the Philippine Daily Inquirer and Rappler of reporting fake news on the said project.
The cheap dictator wannabe has embarked on various wars against the Filipino people–war on drugs, all-out war, martial law– and is determined to alter the country as he sees fit for the interest of his imperialist head honchos.
As Duterte’s tyrannical rule accelerates, dissent and scrutiny have also accelerated to impeccable proportions. But Duterte is a pretentious strongman who turns lily-livered with his staunch critics who expose everything that is rotten in his lapdog regime.
Duterte has permanently banned Ranada and Ressa because they have allegedly betrayed the “subject’s trust.” But whose trust is Duterte referring to? His political minions and imperialist enchiladas? It is Duterte who have greatly betrayed and deceived the Filipino people by putting the toiling masses in a deleterious state while he’s on his bloody iron throne enjoying cherries on his silver plate.
He is the number one purveyor of lies and deceit. While killing thousands of Filipinos, he utilizes his paid humbug supporters to portray him as a champion of people’s rights. Duterte salivates on such tactic while accusing legitimate media organizations as stewards of fake news.
Duterte can ban his staunch critics and even close as many media organizations as he can but he can never put to an end to the peeople’s growing disgust and dissent against his murderous regime.
It is Duterte who should be banned from Malacañang, along with his political stooges and crass blind propaganda antics. He should sleep with one eye opened because the Philippine press, along with the growing mass movement, will fight back against his despotic and tyrannical rule.
