More and more legislators, organizations, publications, and individuals have been voicing out their indignation on the disservice of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) and its spokesperson Southern Command Chief Lt. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr.

The College Editors Guild of the Philippines (CEGP) stands in solidarity with all the concerned citizens who recapitulated the necessity to immediately annihilate this state-sponsored crackdown machinery led by the baseless accusations of Parlade.

Duterte’s tyrannical claws have gone further scratches as they have been among the blatant threats against dissent and being critical after the series of red-tagging, harassment, arrests, and even killings they have spearheaded that all boils down to the incompetent’s desperation to neglect his shortcomings.

Moreover, the Guild heightens the calls of junking terror law which becomes a free pass for state forces to impudently put the laws in their hands upon stepping onto the human rights, constitution, justice, and freedom.

This has ballooned the number of innocent lives — from opposing politicians, artists, journalists, students, and alike — tarnished for they have either mistakenly or intentionally tagged these victimized as enemies of the state when, in fact, their words and actions point themselves otherwise with their abusive and rebellious nature enabled by their chief.

CEGP urges the Filipino people to strengthen such catalyzing of change within the intoxication by increased condemnation and resistance against the oppression that holds us right at the stagnation.
